FAQs
Why go to a dentist for facial esthetics?
Who knows your face better than your dentist? Dentists spend 8 years of medical training specifically on the head and neck area. We know more about the muscles and structure of the face than any other type of doctor. We are also master injectors! We know how to handle the injections to maximize results and minimize discomfort.
How do you make the PRF?
It starts with a simple blood draw, just like you would do for any other blood test. The tube is then spun in a centrifuge which separates the plasma from the red blood cells and concentrates the growth factors.
Does it hurt?
The only discomfort is the blood draw itself and it is very quick. For all our facial procedures we use a compounded numbing cream to make sure you stay comfortable.
What does the procedure entail?
We start with the simple blood draw and separate the PRF. Then depending on your individual goals the PRF if then injected just under the skin followed by microneedling with PRF topically. We treat you to a cooling facial mask and finish with personalized skin care recommendations. We repeat this procedure once a month for three months and then do 1-2 touch ups per year. Each appointment takes between 15-40 minutes.
What is the recovery like?
For most people there is some redness for about 24-48 hours. Skin may peel for a few days after that. We will provide you with good instructions on how to continue the healing process at home.
How long do the effects last?
Within 24 hours, patients will begin to notice an immediate glow in their skin. Collagen production will reach its peak around 2-4 weeks post-therapy and will continue for up to 6 months.
